Developmental and Behavioral Pediatricians are trained as general pediatricians first, followed by a three year fellowship. We are educated to intricately understand child development and to identify variances or deviations in development and behavior. Additionally, we take into account the birth, medical, environmental, and relationship history of the child and family to accurately assess each individual and approach an understanding of neurodevelopmental delays and behavioral differences.

Therapeutic intervention
Multiple modalities may be recommended based on needs. These include physical, speech and occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy or psychotherapy (such as cognitive, play, family and parent interaction therapy).
Evaluations & Assessments
Assessments may include but are not limited to: ADHD evaluations, brief cognitive evaluations, autism spectrum disorder evaluations, anxiety/mood/trauma screening/evaluations. Screening forms may be provided prior to, during, or after your office visit.

If a medication form or school letter is needed, please request this during your appointment. Ongoing communication and cooperation with the school can be discussed during your visit and is provided as needed.

Medications may be prescribed for ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, emotional outbursts, and sleep.

referrals
In addition to therapy referrals, we may provide referrals for additional imaging and/or bloodwork. Referrals to other medical providers such as Pediatric Genetics and Neurology may be part of your child’s care. Our goal is to help you build a team for your child’s optimal developmental and emotional outcomes.
